ASHLEY WATERS IS NEW FIRST TEAM MANAGER

Mousehole AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Ashley Waters as First Team Manager ahead of the club’s new chapter in the South West Peninsula League.

Ashley arrives with a wealth of experience across Cornish football, having built a strong reputation in player development, coaching and senior team management. He most recently served as Coach at Pendeen Rovers, where he helped steer the club to champions of the St Pirans League Premier West in the most recent season. He is a member of the Penwith Player Project, which provides specialist coaching opportunities for young players across West Cornwall.

His football journey has included managing Penzance AFC, where he was credited with revitalising the first-team squad and helping establish a positive culture around the club. Alongside his senior football experience, Ashley has spent more than eight years coaching youth football with Ludgvan Lions and has also worked within the development set-up at Mousehole AFC.

The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the club as it embarks on a strategic reset focused on sustainability, community football and creating clear pathways for local players to progress through the game.

Mousehole AFC Chair Deryk Heywood said:

“Please give a warm welcome to Ashley Waters, our new Mousehole AFC Manager. Ashley is a passionate coach who will bring fresh ideas, energy and unwavering commitment to this amazing football club.

When I asked Ashley how much he wanted to be Mousehole manager, his answer was simple: “I’d be honoured”. That told me everything I needed to know.

We are excited to have Ashley leading the next chapter of the club’s journey and everyone at Mousehole AFC wishes him every success in his new role.”

Ashley said:

“Firstly, I would like to thank the board for giving me the opportunity to lead Mousehole AFC at such a key moment in the club’s history.

I know the decision to take voluntary relegation wasn’t an easy one, but it was a deliberate and strategic choice to reset and give the club the best possible platform to move forward.

My aim is to lay the foundations for something stronger and more sustainable, while never forgetting everything this club has achieved in the past. TOVO football is very important to me and I want to implement that philosophy to create a team with a clear identity and style of play.

That means bringing in players who care, who will grow alongside us, and who will give absolutely everything every time they put on a Mousehole shirt.

There is plenty of work to do in the weeks and months ahead, but I am excited by the challenge. This is a chance to build something special and I am keen to get started. With the backing of our supporters and everyone connected with the club, I believe Mousehole AFC has a bright future ahead.”

Everyone at Mousehole AFC would like to welcome Ashley to Trungle Parc and wish him every success as he leads the club into an exciting new era.
